Oggi posto la lista dei vincitori del Concorso organizzato all'MQX Quilt Festival.
Leggerete numerose categorie e proprio questo mi ha portato a scoprire una realtà molto diversa da quella italiana. All'inizio non è stato facile capire esattamente dove poter inserire il mio quilt, ho dovuto tradurre bene il regolamento e documentarmi su longarm... midarm... shortarm... tutto abbastanza complicato. Alcuni esempi: nella "Computerized Quilting" non sono ammesse quiltature in free-hand ma solo quiltature eseguite usando un sistema di guida computerizzato; nella categoria "Solo Artist" il quilt deve essere creato solo da una persona, infatti nelle altre categorie è ammesso un lavoro fatto da una persona e quiltato da un'altra. Io ho scelto la categoria "Wallhanging Small", cioè quella in cui il quilt viene usato come decorazione da appendere al muro ed il cui perimetro deve misurare meno di 160 pollici. Nella scheda di iscrizione, inoltre, bisogna specificare l'anno di acquisto della propria macchina per cucire, quale sistema di quitatura si usa, se si quilta da seduti o in piedi, se di usa un regolatore di punto... insomma... veramente complicato, un lavoro che ho fatto da sola, chiedendo a volte una consulenza linguistica a mia marito.
